Phallica #4

We appeared on another rooftop on the other side of the city, in the middle of an older, run down business district. I could already hear the sounds of fighting in the distance. Screams of rage echoed between the buildings, and I saw flashes of fire coming from between some buildings almost a block away. Police were already cordoning off the area, the few pedestrians out this late fleeing the scene.

Ring Mage cast out his vision rings, one of them appearing in the sky over the battlefield. A small golden ring appeared over my left eye, and I jumped as I was suddenly given a view of the action.

He tapped his ear. “I’ll stay in touch,” he said. “You stay here. Do what you can to subdue our opponents, but don’t alert them to your presence.”

Phallica #3

Dispos.garlic turned out to be a tremendous pain in the ass to actually use. Firstly, it could only be accessed via a unique browser that you had to download through a torrent, which you could only find the link to via a few other Deep Web sites. I spent half a day just trying to find the file, then another day downloading the thing on the slowest download rate I’d ever seen, then another half a day trying to get it working on my computer.

When I finally got the damn thing to function, I was just confused. I had to assume there were middle men actually coordinating everything, because there was no possible way your average person could just log on and know what they were looking at.

Even accessing the site was almost impossible; the address changed weekly. Only certain people had access to the constant updates, people with connections who then had other people spread the word at certain seedy locations. From there, people interested in a quick hit of dirty money had only a couple days to scope the site, figure out what jobs they could do, and try to check in.

The Surprise

Clark didn’t expect to come home on his birthday to an empty, completely dark house. The sun was in the last stages of twilight as he pulled onto the driveway, and the house was cast in total shadow. None of the outside lights were on, not a single window was illuminated.
