Okay, so the point of this post is that I'm basically going to try taking some suggestions for material. If you are interested, please read the rest of this post before pitching in ideas.
So, a story concept for the Sex Mage World that I have had for a few years now has been the idea of a Winesburg, Ohio-style mosaic story of showing a long chain of various cock-teasing events throughout a particularly horny day in a single town. What this essentially boils down to is a sort of "cock-tease telephone game", where every chapter is a self-contained, Just A Little Scene-esque flash fic, but with the gimmick that a side character in one Scene will be the main focus of the next Scene, or the events of one Scene will be sensed by characters elsewhere in town and inspire them to get up to their own mischief.
For example: Two teen girls are driving down the main street and sense some particularly horny boys in a passing van. They cast some tease spells as they laugh about how silly boys are, edging the boys right in front of their mother, whose driving the car! The next scene follows the flustered mother as she tries to resist the good vibes coming from her horny boys cocks (and maybe discreetly slips them a few spells anyway), and when she gets home, she takes out her horny mischief on her blue-balled neighbor. The next scene follows the blue-balled neighbor trying desperately to not ejaculate all over his sister's clothes; he's supposed to do the laundry as part of a deal he made with her, and he has to get it done before she gets home, but how can he while some mysterious cock-teaser teases his cock! And this ends up leading to some other thing, and that leads to another, etc.
I don't have any particularly deep narrative through line like Winesburg, but there may be a couple characters who frequently pop up across several of the stories, wherein following their sub-plot would be the closest thing to a "main plot". But I get ahead of myself.
Now, while I like this idea, the problem here is that in order to do it, I must come up with something like thirty to forty Just A Little Scenes all in a row, in a short time. However, Just A Little Scenes have always come to me on completely random whim, it takes years to build up enough scenes to justify a full collection of them, and this would be the first time I've made an attempt to Martian Chronicles a bunch together into a coherent sequence. And as I've made known, since the end of 2019, I've been in the erotic inspiration gutter, so I've only managed to come up with maybe two or three interesting half-scenes to include in this collection since conceiving of the idea. I am running on vapors and pulling teeth trying to come up with more.
I have also made it known that I am notoriously incapable of taking suggestions or doing commissions. But, as my weary, jaded ass refuses to get younger, I'm getting at the end of my rope. This is basically one of my two only plans left for an SMW project, and I can't seem to muster the mojo to come up with anything beyond the five hundredth rote "Sex Mage laughs as she Tease Spells her poor neighbor's boner" scenario. Which is probably what half the book is going to be anyway, and that's fine, but I'm having trouble coming up with engaging versions of that template.
So, as an experiment, I am opening the floor to suggestions on this one, to see if I can wring some blood from this stone. I do, however, have some caveats:
1) I intend to sell this as an e-book exclusive. This was always the plan, but now, part of the point of this exercise is to see if I'm at all capable of cold-writing material for compensation. Depending on how this goes and how I feel about things afterwards, I may find myself more capable of doing commissions than I thought. Or I might hate it and be assured to never try this again. We'll see.
2) Please suggest something that will fit within the framework detailed above. Do not just ask me to write some other story, or give me an outline for your own entire version of the book. I mainly just need some basic scenarios from which to build some simple scenes, and I'll see how I can duck tape them together.
3) There is no guarantee I will use your suggestion. Some stuff I just do not want to write about. But we'll see what comes up.
4) This could take awhile, between how long it takes to get enough suggestions I feel are workable, and just finding the time/energy to do the work. If it ends up being a bust, I'll let you know by the end of the year.
5) If you end up having a ton of ideas of your own, I would ask you to limit your suggestions to only five scene ideas for now, just to allow more people the chance to get their thoughts in.
And I guess that's about it. If you have a Little Scene idea that would fit into the theme of a "horny day in the life of a random Sex Mage town", please consider leaving a suggestion in the comments! I guess I'll leave this open for a month to see what builds up, but if I end up starting work on this over the summer, I may keep taking ideas if I get later entries and need to fill more chapters.
So I don't have a specific suggestion for a scene, but my first thought is for how to tie them all together. Have one woman who has a job that requires her to drive around town all day, perhaps a delivery driver or something like that. She's too busy doing her job to stop and interact with any of them, but she keeps sensing things with her own sex mage powers, perhaps making comments to the people she interacts with along the way. ie "You won't believe what I sensed on Elm Street on my way over here."
ReplyDeleteThis would give you a single character to include in the intro/outro of every scene, and the scenes don't actually have to tie into each other directly, if you have trouble coming up with ideas for that. Also, you can end it with her coming home at the end of the day to her husband/boyfriend/slave and telling him, "I sensed some interesting stuff today. I can't wait to try it out on you."
This is a good idea, and I'm already thinking of how to build on it. Perhaps one woman is doing the delivery service, but is overtaxed with orders, so recruits her brother in exchange for an early release. This would make for easy bridging from otherwise disparate scenes, and maybe even set up a bet between the two that we can track in the background as the book proceeds.

ReplyDeleteWell, following the example chain you suggested (because why not), a girl in a nearby house could the blue-balled neighbor trying to do his sister's laundry while being teased and notices how said neighbor is really lusting over his sister's underwear.
Getting a little inspired by that, she casts a tease spell on her younger brother that only lessons when he's wearing one of her sluttier outfits and showing off for others, forcing him to go out in a slutty outfit while phantom feathers are teasing his cock.
A woman catching sight of the boy like that as he's shamefully strutting his stuff and begin a tease could then remember that she wanted to do this guy she's friends with a "favor" and surprises him by sending some intense sexual imagery and thoughts to said friend's head that play on his strongest fetishes.
Do any of these sound good?
Forced crossdressing/sissification isn't my usual thing, but I guess this is an opportunity to try and work with stuff outside my wheelhouse. Maybe part of the above brother/sister bet idea may involve the brother having to wear the slutty delivery girl outfit.

I am notoriously bad at following instructions when doing things like this because I'm usually pretty high when writing, but I hope these suggestions fit the criteria you laid out above.

The next scene follows the floating guy who we learn was fantasizing about his hot neighbor’s breasts before phantom hands lifted him into the air. He gets dropped in a pool and when he surfaces he sees the hot neighbor he was fantasizing about standing in front of him. She punishes him for not asking her permission to think about her in that manner. Her roommate enters the backyard, complains about having to work on a Saturday, and throws some spells on the guy’s cock out of frustration before leaving.
The next scene is her at work in her downtown office. She decides to do her favorite breaktime activity and looks out her window to tease the guys on her town’s bench. She teases them one by one while reading their minds, laughing at the various things they did to deserve being put on the bench until she recognizes one of them. She leaves her office to tease him in person, then idly watches as a mother picks her son up from the bench.
The next scene follows the son who is getting yelled at in the back seat of his mother’s car when they stop at a house he doesn’t recognize. He finds out his mother volunteered him as a test boy for a coworker's daughter who just got the magic. He gets teased mercilessly from the new sex mage who tries countless things she found on the internet after years of anticipating her magic. She takes a video of his torment and texts it to all her friends.
The next scene follows a friend who received the text and has also recently acquired the magic. She’s working a crappy retail job and is very eager to show off her new powers to her coworkers. They concoct a plan to ambush the cute janitor who has to clean in the middle of the day for security reasons. She feigns innocence while the man is assaulted with tease spells, claiming that her and her coworkers don't have the magic yet and can't offer any assistance.
The next scene follows the janitor on the bus. He notices two women who might be old enough to have the magic staring at him. He feels a phantom lick on his cock, then sighs.
I am going to stop myself right here to make sure I’m following the format you want before I continue. I recognize that some of these might take too long to get from A to B for just little scenes, but hopefully they can be modified to fit your vision.
These are all good, and is exactly the sort of sequencing I was thinking of. I'm not sure yet how fast and loose these scenes will be, if it really will be forty incredibly quick and shallow scenes, or if I might trim it down to fifteen meatier ones. I'll figure it out when I'm able to actually start writing, I guess.

ReplyDeleteOn the edge of town, a recent high school graduate shows up for his first day at the local ‘power plant’, having been convinced to work there by his best friend. It’s her first day too, of course, but her experience will be radically different than his.
She’s assured him it’d be a safe way to make some money before college, and that he’ll be relatively safe with her there.
Her supervisor is delighted to use the poor boy to for her on the job training. She apologizes to him with every increasing torment, he feels betrayed, they both less-than-secretly enjoy the gig.
So, just like apparently everyone else, the moment you said you weren’t looking for advice on how to structure the larger piece, I immediately thought of one. It could be fun to have a megami (if I’m remembering your term right), or some otherwise powerful and newly awakened sex mage playing a social dynamics game of dominos. Maybe she’s made a bet with a friend. Either way, she believes she knows the town’s inhabitants’ relationships and perversions so well that she could give one guy a hard attack and predict the chain reaction. Like a Rube Goldberg machine, but with variously embarrassed and horny people.
Hope this helps a little, but mostly, I hope you keep writing and can enjoy doing so.
The Power Plant ideas sounds meaty enough to be its own whole story, but I'll keep it in mind.
DeleteThe Megami set up would probably be beyond the scope of this story. I like the idea that all of is genuine happenstance, that we're seeing a typical day in the town, not that it's the result of a secret chess game.
Cool. I don't remember specifically where you mentioned the power plants as a thing, but the notion stayed with me. If you want to do a longer piece with that prompt, I'm thrilled. You're more than welcome to do, or not do, whatever you like with it.

A woman witnesses one of the men/neighbours on the stories above and goes to check their profile to see what the latest is - while there they see an update from a friend's partner with some shrunken penis pics (maybe even linked to your caption image), and she gets turned on enough by the idea she decides to try it out.
